The first Armenian Film Awards ceremony “Anahit” by the National Film Academy took place on December 28, 2017. It took place in one of the pavilions of the National Television of Armenia.
27 films were presented and 11 awards were granted in respective nominations.
Anahit National Film Awards is a unique way of finding, motivating and appreciating local filmmakers and their work.
The "Anahit" National Film Award is aimed at transforming the criteria of evaluation of films, by encouraging the discovery of new names and promoting the films, which have already been selected. There are 38 members of the Armenian National Film Academy, who have contributed to the history of modern Armenian cinema, are the ones deciding who will be the winners.
